Seeing moments. Holding into feeling.
About the artist
process & perspective
I’m Raluca, a Los Angeles–based artist.
My work begins with noticing. I’m drawn to quiet places — pale skies, desert light, silhouettes, and simple moments most people pass by. Photography is how I capture them. Afterward, I often feel the need to recreate that same atmosphere physically. Using plaster, concrete, acrylic, and hand-formed micro-cement, I create paintings and sculptural objects that carry the same calm feeling as the places I photograph. The photographs record what I see. The objects translate how it feels. I create art meant to live inside a home, not a gallery — pieces that quietly become part of everyday life. Each work is finished and prepared for display so it can be lived with immediately.

Translating simple scenes into visual works
The work is meant to be lived with. Light shifts across it during the day, shadows change around it, and over time it becomes part of the rhythm of a space rather than just decoration.
